I think that she should have been mad at her parents. the death of the president should not have any affect on the minds of a little girl. The parents were upset so they want to drag everyone down with them. So that they arnt the only ones that is sad. SO because JFK died she could not study with a friend. The mothers logic mackes no sence. Personally i would just run to his house and ignore whatever he said. So all in all she was not allowed to expand her knowlege due to his death.
